Ángel Sanzo is a renowned Spanish pianist, known for his distinguished career in concerts and festivals across Europe and beyond. He has recorded music with various institutions, including RTVE, RTSI, RBB, RTBF, RAI, and RNM. He has performed concerts in countries such as Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Chile, and the United States, and has collaborated as a soloist with various orchestras under the direction of conductors such as Adrián Leaper, Enrique García Asensio, Max Bragado, Xavier Puig, Michael Thomas, Rubén Gimeno, Lorenzo Ramos, Álvaro Albiach, Domenico Longo, and Miguel Ortega.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, including first prize in the Joaquín Rodrigo International Competition, the Frechilla-Zuloaga Piano Competition, the Taranto European Piano Competition, first prize in the Moroccan Princess Lalla Meryem International Competition, second prize in Valencia's José Iturbi Piano Competition, and a unanimous medal at Barcelona's María Canals International Piano Competition.
Sanzo has been praised by international critics as a pianist of exceptional talent and technique. He began his career in 1995, and his debut with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Málaga Symphony Orchestra was very well received. His expressiveness and technical precision give him a unique musical character, allowing him to pay tribute to all piano music, as reflected in his acknowledgments for his interpretations of Spanish music and the works of Frédéric Chopin.
His extensive chamber music repertoire has taken him all over Europe alongside other prestigious musicians such as Shirley Laub, Benjamin Dieltjens, Tai Murray, and Ángel Luis Quintana. He currently teaches at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badajoz, where he has become one of the most sought-after tutors by universities and conservatories in Spain, and where he conducts masterclasses and courses for perfecting technique. Many of his students have won international prizes in various competitions around the world. Additionally, he is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada and the Royal Academy of Noble Arts of Antequera.
